Tucked away in the small rural Otane Village is the not-so-secret Creative Hub of Central Hawkes Bay. The historic school is home to Otane Arts and Crafts. The following groups meet mostly weekly to inspire, encourage and create –  Art, Patchwork and Embroidery, Wool and Fibre, Mosaic, Garden and Herb.

Our Art Group is excited to be having our SPLASH! Exhibition at Creative Arts Napier (CAN) for 2 months. Our Group consists of 13 members at present, with most taking part in this exhibition. Our artists are Lorraine Simmonds, Ray Sievert, Karen Pallesen, Alison Hume, Aileen Duckett, Lynda Pepping, Tony Hunt, Zahira Rickard, Chris Bayliss, Angela Ward, Margaret Cudby, Helen Reyland and Glenda Mausen. Although members have a variety of painting styles and experience, we are drawn together in a supportive learning environment by our love of art – painting in particular.

Our theme for this exhibition is a “SPLASH!” of vibrancy, energy, colours, styles, and creativity.

We hope our visitors leave refreshed!
