A collection of paintings by local artist Janice Hambly.

“I have been an artist all of my life, a useful skill as a mother and primary school teacher. I have lived in Napier for 44 years. I love living here. I paint mainly acrylic landscapes but do pet portraits on commission.

I have had a few exhibitions at CAN, the last being two years ago. I’m inclined to paint when I need to, as my main interests are music: playing the piano at the Salvation Army and for other groups, reading – a book a week – gardening, puzzles, jigsaws, travel, and connections with family and friends.

I have sold many Napier paintings, eg: the Sound Shell, Mission, Art Deco steam train, including others featuring Art Deco motifs, so to have plenty for this exhibition I have included some from other parts of New Zealand.”
