Creative fun for the whole whanau!

SATURDAY 21st JUNE 2025

Celebrate Matariki and have some creative fun in these hour long workshops on Saturday June 21st. Using a mix of contemporary and traditional techniques and materials, tutor Te Aroha Tauroa will take you through designing and constructing your very own manu (kite) to take home.

To register, click on your desired session below:

Contemporary Manu Aute (10am – 11am)  – Ages 3-100. Draw and paint on paper canvas, then assemble a manu aute kite.

Contemporary Manu Tukutuku (11.30am – 12.30pm)  – Ages 8-100. Use colourful paper and tukutuku stitching to create a manu tukutuku.

Traditional Manu Tukutuku (1.30pm – 3.30pm)  – Ages 10-100. Use raupo, toetoe and harakeke alongside contemporary tools to create a traditional manu tukutuku.

Places are limited – register early to avoid missing out! All materials will be provided.
