Happy Travels
by Kate White
Date: May 2 – May 15Space: Small Gallery
A collection of oil portraits of the damned. Bringing light to the story of those captured, freighted, starved, drenched, brought to this land, released, left, established, devalued, turned on, hunted, poisoned, and reclassified as unwanted. The show presents the foil of 19th century optimism against the current prevailing mindset, and seeks to shake out some empathy for beings abandoned, in the middle of the ocean, to this fate.
