Pinhole Photography Workshop with Jenny Tomlin | Fotofest 2026
This is a practical hands-on day exploring the surreal world of pinhole photography. Make your own pinhole camera from recycled materials. Once loaded with photographic paper, explore the visual possibilities, developing your images in the pop-up darkroom. There will also be some of my pinhole cameras available to use on the day. We will be celebrating the accident and looking at what these cameras do well. Each choose one negative for me to scan and email after the workshop – otherwise can be inverted with a phone app to form a positive. (The scanned negatives will be available to collect from CAN reception from Monday October 5th onwards)
At the end of the day, the cameras can be loaded with photo paper to take away to make a solargraph in your own time (after a demo of the process).
You’re welcome to bring along small props to photograph if you want, otherwise there will be plenty of possibilities around the space.
