Gilot Inspired Drypoint Workshop for Adults
Suitable for beginners – Learn the simple technique of drypont etching in this relaxed one day workshop with printmaker Lisa Feyen of Ink Moth Studio.
Where: The CAN Workshop, 16 Byron Street Napier.
When: Saturday 30th April 2022, 10.30am to 3.30pm
Cost: $75 to register plus $25 cash on the day for materials
You will create your own beautiful set of hand-crafted fine art prints taking inspiration from the beautiful Francoise Gilot print exhibition which will be on display at CAN. This workshop is perfect for print beginners or artists looking to broaden their practise and develop image ideas into multiples. Dry point is a great place to start!
There is an additional $25 cash fee for materials – this is payable on the day direct to your tutor. This includes the following materials:
- A dry point needle for you to keep
- Tracing print/newsprint
- An A5 polycarbonate plate
- Use of intaglio inks at the workshop
- Mull cloth for wiping back the ink on the plate
- Wet strength paper to print on
What to bring:
- Photographs and drawings of anything that will help you feel inspired – although we will be looking at the Gilot prints to get your juices flowing!
In line with the current Covid-19 protection framework CAN is at the RED setting, please use the Covid Tracer App on entry – mask wearing is mandatory, and social distancing must be maintained when entering and moving about the CAN venue. Vaccine certificates are not required.
