“Chapter Ten” marks a significant exhibition for the Tuesday Painters, coinciding with CAN’s 10th Birthday. Helen Dynes and Co. joined CAN in 2014 at the official opening with their first exhibition in the small gallery, and have exhibited every year since. Over the years the group has been meeting weekly, and numerous people have come and gone leaving a trail of creativity in their wake.

The reasons for painting are as varied as each individual, but there is no doubt that the spell of art weaves its magic into the lives of anyone who becomes immersed in the world of artistic expression. Many class participants have made space for home studios in a spare bedroom or a  garage, as the yearning to spend more hours in this peaceful zone increases.

Light, colour, shape, and form fill their heads as visual awareness broadens to encompass everyday life. Imagination and reality combine to produce  unique and original artworks, leaving a mark of beauty in the world.

We often have an inspiring quote to start our painting sessions, today we borrowed from Vincent Van Gogh;

“I dream my painting and I paint my dream. Be clearly aware of the stars and infinity on high. Then life seems almost enchanted after all.”
