“Warmth from the sun and sand. A warming fire or a relaxing warm bath. The warmth of kindness and connections between people: in a smile, at celebrations, kind neighbours sharing eggs from their chickens, love laughter and friendship”
Carli Lewis lives in Hawkes Bay and paints what she sees, she is in love with the natural and urban environment around her. Inspired by other artists, her children, nature and places she explores. She loves when her paintings create an emotion for someone.
Carli started painting in high school. Her last exhibition “Locale” was in 2021 with paintings of Hawkes Bay. She also had an exhibition in Nelson 2007 where she was a paediatric nurse at the time. She completed a certificate in creativity through the Learning connection in Wellington.
Carli paints abstracts, landscapes of nature, beaches and buildings. Painting when she can, where she can. Lately Carli has enjoyed finding ideas and inspiration for her paintings from travelling with her family in a tiny caravan or walking in the neighbourhood with her children.
All works available to view and purchase from Friday 28th October – Thursday 10th November
