What does YOUR most perfect place look like?!

As we head into the New Year, here is your chance to create your most imaginative ‘utopia’ – it could be anything from your own reimagined back yard, your perfect dream bedroom to a space station on Mars!

Kids – bring your parents/caregivers to CAN with a bucket load of imagination and create! There are prizes for the best CAN-topia creation, and runners-up too! 

For just $5 koha (suggested donation) you can plunge into the piles of making materials and glue, and put together your very own dream scene. Grab one of the shoe boxes we have collected and create your miniature scene inside using fabric, glitter, recycled cardboard, beads, wire… in fact anything from the stocks of goodies we will have waiting for you.

You can record the story about your creation in the special CAN book, and leave your masterpiece on display for all to see. We would love the pile to grow and grow on the CAN-topia Table!

CAN-topia is open daily for 3 weeks from 4 January, finishes on Tuesday 26 January and all creations can be picked up in the last week. There will be an award given for ‘Most Imaginative’ entry. Judging of the CAN-topia creations will take place on 26 January and all winners will be announced on the CAN Facebook page.

All children must be accompanied by an adult. Hot glue guns will be available on request, issued to adults and over 14’s only.

CAN-topia is open 10am – 3.30pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am – 1.30pm on Sundays.
