Drop-in Workshop

Date: May 7 – May 7Space: Workshop

Join local printmakers from Hawke’s Bay Inkers Community Group to have a go at creating your very own Gilot inspired etching. Learn the basics of the dry point technique by creating your own miniature plate and printing it on the CAN press. The friendly Inkers team will help you all the way!

You will create your own beautiful hand-crafted fine art print to take home, taking inspiration from the beautiful Francoise Gilot print exhibition on display at CAN. This workshop is perfect for complete print beginners and is recommended for anyone aged 13+

What is Dry Point?

Dry point is a versatile printmaking process which involves etching an image into a polycarbonate plate ready for printing. Using etching tools you will carve the surface with your design, creating a unique textured plate. You will then learn how to ink your plate and print it using the CAN etching press.
