Bay Scapes
by John Goodhind
Date: Mar 21 – Apr 3Space: Small Gallery
An exhibition of new and recent watercolours by John Goodhind.
John is an artist and teacher from Hastings. John’s subject for this exhibition (his fourth solo show in Hawke’s Bay) is the rural and urban environment. He is interested in capturing a wide range of familiar and recognisable views; though not always those that are ‘pretty’: rusty farm sheds, water culverts, the backs of buildings and old abandoned vehicles all feature. Water appears in many of the pieces, whether in the form of our beautiful and ever changing coast, or as reflections in a muddy puddle.
While this is his first exhibition at CAN, He is a regular contributor to the Greenmeadows Rotary Artex, and the Tremains Affordable Art Exhibition at Napier Girls’ High School. He has shown work at the New Zealand Art Show in Wellington, and at the New Zealand Watercolour Society’s annual “Spash” exhibition.
John teaches Design and Visual Communication at Taradale High School.
Opening night Friday March 21st 5-7pm.
