DUEX HOMMES ET ENE FEMME

Date: May 16 – May 23Space: Main Gallery

CAN is proud to present ‘DEUX HOMMES ET UNE FEMME (Two Men and A Woman) THE POWER OF PAPER’, an exhibition featuring print and paper works by Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse and Françoise Gilot.

Join collector and curator Dr Adrian Ormsby for in-gallery interactive discussions on two Saturdays to help viewers and collectors appreciate the complexity, value, and historical context of the artists and works featured in this exhibition.

Saturday 16th May, 1.00pm

Saturday 23rd May, 1.00pm

This exhibition is the first of its kind in Aotearoa/New Zealand and the Southern Hemisphere to bring together in one location so many important examples created by Picasso, Matisse and Gilot at this important time of innovative works on paper. Visitors to the exhibition will appreciate for themselves why so many artists, critics and the public were so moved by their works on paper in the 1950’s. An influence that continues to this day.
