About us
Our mission is to enhance the creative spirit of Napier by providing accessible and affordable arts opportunities. CAN’s Community Arts Centre is for the people of Napier and beyond – a vibrant and energetic creative space where all are welcome.
Our goal is to make the Arts Centre the leading ‘go to’ place for all artists, and the central ‘Arts information hub’ in Hawke’s Bay.

Join the CAN Team

We are looking for creative tutors to run children’s and adult workshops at CAN. There is an increasing demand for creative activities and we would like to be able to meet it.  If you are interested please contact Michelle at bookings@thecan.co.nz to discuss what you can offer to our community and our terms and conditions.

Volunteering at CAN

If you have an interest in the Arts and can offer some time during the week to support our services to the community, we would love to hear from you!

Our team of volunteers are vital to the operation of Creative Arts Napier, which is a registered charity. Our volunteers love being part of our team and working in the beautiful gallery spaces, greeting visitors and helping out with light duties. It’s a rewarding way to spend a few hours every week, and we value their contribution.
