Welcome to CAN!

As a public facility, you will not require a My Vaccine Pass for entry to CAN.

However, as CAN is also an event venue, if you are attending an event here from time to time you may be required to present a My Vaccine Pass. Please check the event listing on our website or Facebook for clarification.

When visiting:

  • You are required to wear a face covering
  • Please scan in using the COVID tracer app (or use the manual recording system)
  • Follow physical distancing guidelines

Your health and well-being is always our top priority. We are following Ministry of Health guidelines to protect you and ensure your visit is a safe and enjoyable experience.

About CAN:

Our mission is to enhance the creative spirit of Napier by providing accessible and affordable arts opportunities. Entry is free, and we open 7 days a week. CAN is a registered charity, so donations are gratefully received in the donations box located in the foyer.

Friends of CAN Membership
You can support CAN by  joining as a member for just $30 per year. Our latest membership available is for the year 1 July 2021 – 30 June 2022.
CAN is a registered charity and also, an incorporated society. Volunteering at CAN
If you have an interest in the Arts and can offer some time during the week to support our services to the community, we would love to hear from you!
Our team of volunteers are vital to the operation of Creative Arts Napier, which is a registered charity. Our volunteers love being part of our team and working in the beautiful gallery spaces, greeting visitors and helping out with light duties. It’s a rewarding way to spend a few hours every week, and we value their contribution.
So, if this sounds like you please email manager@thecan.co.nz with your CV and a brief description of why you would like to become involved in Community Arts.
