Poetry Jam at the CAN
A week of exciting Poetry Events

From Friday 25 August feel free to join us for a free-for-all Poetry Jam! The walls of the Small Gallery will be transformed word by word, as we invite you to write your poems in any way you choose.
Be creative and imaginative, bring the whole family, this will be your moment to shine.
Also, you can enter the CAN Haiku Competition, which will be judged by esteemed local poets and writers Jeremy Roberts and Erice Fairbrother. The theme is ‘What goes on at the CAN’! Drop off your Haiku poetry with your name and contact details on the reverse to the CAN by Tuesday 29 August, with the winner announced on 31 August. The talented winner will be awarded a mystery prize plus a guest invitation to read their Haiku at Live Poets Night at the CAN on Tuesday 5 September.
To run alongside these events, please join us for the following:
Monday 28 August – Poet’s Corner 2-4pm. Cosy on up on the sofas in the special Poet’s Corner to read or listen to poetry written by the CAN Poets!
Wednesday 30 August – CAN ‘Live Poets at Lunchtime’ session, 11.45 – 1.15pm
Thursday 31 August – Winner of the CAN Haiku Competition announced!
Tuesday 5 September – Poets Open Mic Night, 6pm at the CAN
