The Boat Shed Art Group
The Boat Shed Art Group is a diverse group of self-taught and fine art professionals; an eclectic mix of experienced artists that have been together for nearly twenty years. They started as the Wool Shed Art Group then moved into town and became the Boat Shed Art Group, working from the Sea Scouts Hall in Westshore, Napier.
The works on display include prints, oil and acrylic paintings, drawing with inks and stains and mixed media.
Raewyn has been painting professionally for 25 years. Her current work is large, transparent semi- transparent oils, depicting human forms.
Lesley has been painting for about 20 years. She paints with oils and acrylic. Her work is detailed, realistic and inspired by nature.
Denise has been painting for 20 plus years. Over this time she has explored several different styles. Most recently, she has been painting semi-abstract acrylics, taking inspiration from nature.
Jill enjoys the process and clean lines of printmaking which evolves into mixed media.
Flowers have always been close to Helen’s heart after pursuing a career as a florist since she left school. Her love of art goes back a long way, more recently enjoying acrylics and oil painting, printmaking and zentangle art/cards.
Sue fell for all things creative about twenty years ago, after joining a dynamic Art Group. She has explored as many mediums and processes as possible from printmaking, bookmaking, oils, acrylics and pencil drawing. Her favourite subject at the moment is the feminine face.
Francie’s interest in art began many years ago with water colour. I now paint in oils on large canvases exploring a variety of subject matter, from animals to mountains and seascapes.
Glenis also has been painting using a variety of mediums for the past twenty years. She enjoys landscapes and portraits; “It’s great to meet up with friends to exchange ideas and work on projects”.
Janine Gard’s background in floristry is evident in her work; blooms, foliage, form, structure, colour, shape, and movement feature as prominent forms of inspiration. Janine is a self-taught mixed media abstract artist.
