CAN favourite Kiri Goodspeed returns for a long awaited exhibition of her work in the Main Gallery. As a keen painter she enjoys the challenge of painting a wide variety of subjects. She is however, particularly fond of Hawke’s Bay and New Zealand scenery, New Zealand flora and fauna, light and shadow and ‘anything with water’.
As a child Kiri spent many hours looking at her Poppa’s very 1970s ‘Deer in the Clearing’ print, imagining herself walking through the forest, feeling the heat of the sunshine and smelling the pines. She never grew tired of looking at it, so her hope is that each piece of Kiri Art is not only a painting to be enjoyed, but an experience.
Born in Christchurch in the 70’s but raised in Hawke’s Bay, Kiri is a self-taught full time artist, wife, mother of three adult children and two fur babies. Interests outside of her studio include photography, music of any type, gardening and white-baiting.
