Date: Oct 25 – Nov 7Space: Small Gallery
Constance Fein Harding is a creative fine art photographer. Using photography as her medium she blends textures and impressionism to create painterly images. She likes the idea of being able to take photographs of places and everyday things and making them her own by using her creative methods.
After having travelled the world as a Dutch diplomat’s daughter, Constance Fein Harding arrived in New Zealand in 1982. Married with 4 children she lived in Waipukurau until just recently when she moved to Napier with her husband.
In 2009 she took up photography as a hobby and quickly began experimenting with different techniques which gave her a sense of freedom and produced artistic images. The main techniques she enjoys using are the impressionist style of using a slow shutter to produce soft images and adding her own textures which she blends with her images.
The Old Masters and Impressionist painters have always been an inspiration. She loves the soft quality of the impressionists and the darkness and depth of the Old Masters. She also finds inspiration in current artists of impressionism and ones that use textures. Using these methods has helped her produce multiple award winning works at national level as well as International recognition. She has achieved Bronze in the Photographic Society of New Zealand National Exhibition, Silver in the North Shore Salon, and several medals including three Golds in the Creative Focus Competition. She gained international recognition with two ribbons (PSA and FIAP) and a PSA Silver in the Photographic Society of New Zealand International Salon 2018. She has also had several works published in the yearly PSNZ Camera Book.
Join Constance for the opening of her exhibition on Friday 1 November, 5-7pm. All welcome! Light refreshments will be served.
